The joys of house cleaning

Oh wow, it has been forever since I blogged but hey there is no better time than the present....

That's how I felt last night when I went to brush my teeth so with tooth brush in one hand and sponge in the other, lucky I can multi task and that I'm amidexturois, I set about cleaning the bathroom whilst I brush my teeth.

Then this morning when I went down to do my usual morning routine I noticed that the once cream carpet in the lounge is looking a bit darker and it had nothing to do with the lights still being off. Now if there is one thing I dislike doing it's ironing and next would be cleaning carpets so I decided to find an easy way out.

I asked my husband to clean it but with no luck, I wouldn't dare ask the kids they would just look at me with that usual pre-teen blank stare so those "easy way out's" wont be working for me.

So my absolute FAVOURITE site is Pinterest (if you don't already "pin" please go check it out https://www.pinterest.com/ ) Ok so I found something that has a little bit of preparation but not much effort...my kinda cleaning.

If you need to clean the carpet and want to do it with minimal effort have a look here

Homemade Dry Carpet Cleaner For Fresh and Clean Rugs

I'm going to try it on Saturday night after my daughters birthday party, pointless doing it before. I'll let you know how it worked for me.

If you have any carpet cleaning tips for me please feel free to comment below.

Times are tight

and I'm not only talking about cash, I'm talking about time.

I just don't have time to do anything I want to do..........SEWING in particular.

There is always something else that needs to be done, washing, cleaning, homework, shopping, and then when I think "ok I will get some sewing done now" I can't because one of the kids is sleeping or hubby is watching a movie and I hate to be the one to disturb them. Lol when I start sewing even dad goes to his bedroom, clearly my machine disturbs everyone else.

I have been trying to finish my new snugbug car seat blanket for like FOREVER.  Hopefully this week

Have a wonderful week

Tonton Towel - Single Hood

So one of the ladies that I work with requested a blue Tonton Towel for her sister as she has just had a little boy.

I made the Tonton Towel with a single hood and I am absolutely over the moon with the outcome.

I had no one at home to model for me.....my gate cam in handy :-)

The Tonton Deluxe Towel

Ok so here is my first item for the Moms 'n Pops Shop, it's a towel that ties around you like an apron, this will allow mom and dad to have both hands free when picking a wet and slippery baby up out of the bath.

This is the deluxe towel which is fully reversible, it has a hood on both sides and is completely trimmed with stunning white ribbon.

Yes that's me with my handsome nephew Caleb (aka Cally-Wally) :-)

Why I made a Moms 'n Pops Shop

As a mom of three I am constantly looking for ideas, items, goodies to make mine and my hubby's life just a little easier. If I can't find them I make them.

Well as for sewing, my poor machine had to take a back seat whilst the kiddies where growing up, at least until they were old enough to know not to stand on the pedal while mom's fingers were under the needle.

So now that my youngest is 8 and we have settled into our new home I have managed to blow all the dust off my poor old machine and I made my first towel-apron as a gift for my sister&brother-in-law. Sorry D, i know it's pink but pink brings out the colour of your eyes ;-)

Yes yes yes, I got the idea off someone else's website but I made some modifications to suit the busy life style of modern day mom's and dad's. Yes ladies there are some dad's that do bath the kids :-)

This Tonton Deluxe Towel is fully reversible, a hood on both sides and full ribbon trim......the toweling used is thick and lush, I just know that Princess Brooklyn will be as snug as a bug in it.
